为了演好这个角色，摩尔深入基层，去纽约最有名的色情场所体验生活。她的发现：现在的舞女早已不是被人所害、误入歧途、悲悲切切、惨遭践踏的女性，她们都是主动选择这个职业，而且视脱-衣+舞工作为藐视男人、征服男人的自我解放过程。
影片评价
黛米·摩尔主演过一部《Striptease》，从影名到内容都是地地道道的脱-衣+舞，总计有二十分钟的表演。电影的主题倒不是要推广脱-衣+舞。女主角为女儿的监护权打官司，急需用钱，不得不干了这来钱快的行当。但女演员就是女演员，黛米一跳上台，艳光四射，热感十足，据说放映时剧院里此起彼伏的是女观众的喃喃：哇，这身段，居然生过三个孩子？黛米要的就是这效果，脸上哪里有半点被迫脱衣的遗憾？只要自己出彩，她才不管电影的基调。
